  • The metaverse, driven by VR and XR, aims to transform daily lives, including how people socialize, work, and play.

Sri Lanka’s largest mobile provider, Dialog Axiata PLC, has introduced the country’s first immersive 3D metaverse, titled Futureverse. In the experiential virtual world, users can socialize, take part in events and workshops, watch movies, visit exhibitions, play games, and shop for Dialog products and services available at Dialog Experience Centres.

The virtual world is powered by immersive technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR), to offer unique experiences. Futureverse also allows users to create their own customized avatars for personalized virtual interactions with friends via voice or chat.

Sri Lanka’s metaverse “extends a seemingly borderless digital realm that delivers endless experiences and possibilities, where visitors can experience a unique virtual world filled with abstract landscapes and objects.”

Futureverse has seven zones for hangouts and immersive experiences: Lobby, Device Zone, Dialog Home, Idea Innovation, Customer Experience, Hangout Zone, and Conference Area.

“With the Metaverse being a part of web 3.0, the next evolutionary stage of the internet, we are pleased to introduce ‘Futureverse,’ heralding a new virtual world which has the power to transform every aspect of our daily lives, including how we socialize, work, and play. As the trusted digital companion of Sri Lankans, Dialog remains committed to pioneering innovations in the digital space to empower our people, industries, and the nation at large, to drive inclusive growth,”
