Sacha Jafri Launches Customised Rolls-Royces With NFTs

British luxury automaker, Rolls-Royce Motor, has partnered with world-renowned contemporary artist, Sacha Jafri to launch six hand-painted cars along with their NFTs. Titled ‘The Six Elements’, the collection includes six unique Phantom Extended Series II cars. What’s more, the paintings take inspiration from Jafri’s acclaimed ‘Journey of Humanity’ painting.

Here’s all you need to know about the NFTs from Rolls-Royce x Sacha Jafri:

Rolls-Royce x Sacha Jafri Partnership

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dubai and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Abu Dhabi teamed up with Sacha Jafri to create ‘The Six Elements’ Phantom. The one-of-one Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II motor cars feature a unique, painted Sacha Jafri Gallery. Moreover, each painting takes inspiration from one of the five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Air. Humanity, meanwhile, is the sixth element.

Furthermore, the Rolls-Royce x Sacha Jafri collaboration aims to raise $1 million for charity. However, the team is yet to announce the charities it will support. Nonetheless, Rolls-Royce noted that they will support humanity-centric organisations, with a focus on education, health, and sustainability.

“The six Rolls-Royce Phantoms will embody the emotion of each elemental force,” said Jafri. “The artistic journey begins and ends with emotion and intention, fuelling my inspiration to create the colour palette of the ‘Six Elements’. Earth, Fire, Wind, Water and Air are enhanced by the addition of a ‘new element’, Humanity – the very essence of life itself.”

What is the “Rolls-Royce That Keeps on Giving” NFT Initiative?

Alongside the ‘The Six Elements’ Phantom launch, Rolls-Royce is also launching an NFT initiative. Titled “Rolls-Royce That Keeps on Giving”, the initiative includes six NFTs featuring flythrough animations. Each NFT is unique and is linked to each of the six Phantoms. However, the owners are free to sell their NFTs separately.

Notably, every time an NFT is sold, Rolls-Royce will donate a 20% royalty to the selected charity. True to the collection’s name, the idea is to help charities to continue earning from the NFTs.

What’s more, the automaker will embed these NFTs in the glove compartment of each Phantom. This way, the owners can view their NFTs while they are in their cars.

Who is Sacha Jafri?

Sacha Jafri is a contemporary British artist, whose massive paintings are famous for highlighting humanitarian causes from across the world. In 2021, his painting, ‘Journey of Humanity’, sold for over €58 million. In fact, it made history as the second most expensive painting auction by a living artist.

Spanning 1,595.76 sq metres, Jafri auctioned the enormous painting in 70 separate sections. Andre Abdoune, a Dubai-based French-Algerian businessman, bought all the pieces.

Now, Sacha Jafri is collaborating with Rolls-Royce for the first-of-its-kind initiative. “Through the collaboration between the Rolls-Royce dealer partners in the UAE and a contemporary artist beyond compare, art and craftsmanship have converged into a deeper, breathless expression of matter and meaning,” said César Habib. Habib is the Regional Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East & Africa.
